ABOUT US
Blind Poets
We started our journey of supporting local businesses and artists in August, 2020. But we didn't start there. Our ideas and inspirations started years ago.
Growing up in Ogden, located in the great state of Utah, I was raised with a unique perspective on what local business means for the community and the people who live there. You see, my hometown wasn’t what it is now when I was young.
Over the years, I’ve seen major companies coming into my town, and while I believe the expansion of my community is important, seeing drab, mundane corporations take over the lives of my community members raised some questions for me.
Are corporate jobs really what people want to spend their lives doing?
City expansion is good, but what about small-town dreams?
What can I do to help my community expand in the face of these huge corporations?
Questions like these are what first led me down the path to creating BlindPoets. My community is full of local artists who have dreams of showing their art and style to the world, but with so much heavy influence around us, they didn’t have a platform.
BlindPoets is here to show our community that you can make it on your own, that you don’t have to sell your life to a corporation, that your art means something. Supporting us is supporting local business.
